EIBN Supported from Farm to Table 2017 expo on December 6-9, 2017 at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD, Tangerang. From Farm to Table is the international exhibition focused on farm and agricultural industry & supply.
Agricultural Sector of Indonesia
With its vast and abundant fertile soil, Indonesia is a major global key producer of a wide variety of agricultural tropical products. Although agriculture’s share of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) has declined markedly during the last five decades, it still provides income for the majority of Indonesian households today. In 2012 this sector employed around 49 million Indonesian individuals, which represents 41 percent of the total Indonesian labour force.
Indonesia Market Info
In the mid-80s, Indonesian land area that was used for agriculture rose from 21% to 25% until the late 90s. Starting from 1998 another upsurge (due to the establishment of large scale plantations-in particular palm oil) made this number reach the current level of 30%.
The EIBN team, present with a booth, stood by to enhance the participation of attending EU companies informing them about the Network and its business support services.
