As a part of the EIBN Outreach activities in Europe, EIBN’s EU Desk at BKPM team together with BKPM IIPC London, the Indonesian Embassy in UK and Spain conducted Investment Promotion Business Forums in Spain and UK. The EU-Desk at BKPM team delivered a round of presentations and business consultations to Spanish and British companies interested in doing business in Indonesia.

The first roadshow was held in Madrid, Spain on June 28th, 2017. On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN and the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-EU Relations, EIBN together with CEOE Madrid and ICEX conducted the ASEAN Business Forum with theme “Trade and Investment Opportunities in ASEAN”. The team was honored to deliver a presentation regarding the investment, climate in Indonesia, and facilitation services offered by EU Desk at BKPM.. By the end of the event, the team together with Indonesian embassy in Spain and the representatives from the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs conducted business consultation with several Spanish companies who have already established their business in Indonesia, and companies who showed interest in investing in Indonesia.

The following day, the team visited Vigo, Spain on June 30th, 2017. In Vigo, the team together with the Indonesian embassy in Spain, and in collaboration with AVCO Law Firm, held a business forum with the theme “Indonesia’s Infrastructure Development: Opportunities and Partnership with All”. The team presented the opportunities and the investment facilitation services for European companies who would like to do business and invest in Indonesia, especially in the infrastructure sector.

In the end of the roadshow, the EU-Desk at BKPM and the Indonesian Embassy in UK, in collaboration with UKABC, hosted a business seminar focused in the Indonesian tourism industry, giving special focus to the Government’s interest in developing the “10 new Bali” destination in Indonesia, highlighting Lake Toba and Tajung Lesung Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The theme of the event was “Transforming Indonesia’s Tourism Industry and Opportunities for UK companies”. The business seminar was held on July 11th, 2017. After the event was held, the EU-Desk at BKPM together with BKPM IIPC London and the representative from Ministry of Tourism, Authority of Toba Lake Tourism Development, and representative from Tanjung Lesung conducted a business consultation to UK companies interested in investing in Indonesia’s tourism sector.

The main objective of this roadshow is promote Indonesia’s investment climate and current projects to European companies who are interested in doing business in Indonesia, and how the European companies can utilize the facilities provided by BKPM, EU-Desk at BKPM, as well as EIBN.
