From 8-9 March 2018, EIBN hosted the EU ICI+ SEBSEAM projects Regional Coordination Meeting in Jakarta. The EU ICI+ SEBSEAM program seek to further deepen bilateral ties between the EU and important political and trade partners as well as stakeholders in multilateral organisations and global governance. ICI+ therefore intends to provide a platform to further market opportunities.
Currently there are 7 EU ICI+ SEBSEAM (Support for European Business in South East Asian Markets) projects and organizations supported by the programme in ASEAN, including Indonesia (EIBN), Malaysia (SEBSEAM-M), Vietnam (EVBN), Philippines (EPBN), Cambodia (EuroCham Cambodia), Laos (ECCIL) and Myanmar (EuroCham Myanmar). Since their creation, these projects and organizations have been working to ensure that EU companies are able to do business in ASEAN markets as efficiently and openly as possible, so as to boost the EU’s trade and investment in region.
This meeting is a part of the regular gatherings that are conducted every 6 months. The meeting normally is conducted to discuss on how these projects and organizations cooperate with each other to broaden the exposure of EU Companies and to collaborate on conferences, exhibitions, and promotions in the ASEAN region and Europe, bringing together business matches and export/distribution activities.
