From 21-24 November, the JI Expo Kemayoran in Jakarta was home to the annual SIAL InterFOOD. Over 1,100 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors attend this event, mainly from the Food & Beverages sector. Like previous years, the EU-Indonesia Business Network had organised a European Pavilion.
The European Pavilion at SIAL InterFOOD 2018 featured 21 companies and organisations from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. During the four day event, all companies had business to business meetings with local companies from Indonesia.
The European Pavilion was displayed at a strategically sound position. This provided that the over ten thousand daily visitors could get familiar with the companies at our pavilion. At the same time, this was also an opportunity for the European companies at our pavilion to get a good overview of the Indonesian market, the sort of competition they would face, and the potential customers in Indonesia.
The organisations and companies that were represented at our pavilion were diverse in their offerings and diverse in their backgrounds. As mentioned, the companies at the European Pavilion were coming from five countries. Their offerings included, but were not limited to: pasta, coffee, candy, energy drinks and even halal, gluten free, lactose free baking products. The 21 organisations and companies that were represented at the European Pavilion of SIAL InterFOOD 2018 are the following:
