Every year on the 9th of May, the European community gathers around the world to celebrate ‘Europe Day’. For the occasion, the European institutions organize a variety of activities for all ages to mark the day of the Schuman Declaration, the starting point of the creation of the first European Community (the European Coal and Steel Community). In Jakarta, the EIBN participated in the reception organized by the EU Delegation to Indonesia at the Darmawangsa Hotel, having been present with its info booth.

Over 500 people attended including Indonesian government officials, parliamentarians, business representatives, academics, media and civil society, as well as members of the diplomatic community in Jakarta. Beyond the official ceremony programme, EIBN took this opportunity to promote its activities to the invitees visiting the EIBN info booth displayed in the venue’s lobby.
