The 10th Central Java Investment Business Forum was organized by the Head of the Provincial Board of Investment, Ir. Yuni Astuni and took place at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta. More than 150 representatives from the Regencies of Central Java attended the event and met with local and international investors during “speed-dating” sessions.
EIBN was represented by its project officer Mr. Giandomenico Zappia and had the opportunity to collect impressions regarding the business potential of the region and the areas where the local business community would welcome European investment and business partnerships.
The Governor of the Province Ganjar Pranowo SH committed his administration’s effort to reinforce Central Java’s pivotal role in the Indonesian economy. Economic growth in Central Java was of 5.8%, above the national average, its GDP reached IDR 556.5 trillion at current prices. The dominant sectors contributing to its economy were: manufacturing (32.30%), trade hotels and restaurants (20.73%), agriculture (18.30%), services (10.67%).
With 4 airports, 2 major seaports, 7 well developed industrial estates, and an Investment Service supported by a “One-stop Window” in 35 regencies; Central Java is a land of opportunities for potential investors interested in agriculture, energy and mining, infrastructure, property and tourism development.
EIBN met with the regencies/municipalities of Semarang, Surakarta, Kendal, Kudus, Sragen and Demak. Indonesian representatives welcomed the possibility to use EIBN as a platform to promote potential investment opportunities for European SMEs.
