Between 5th and 7th November 2014, EIBN hosted an Irish business delegation to Indonesia, in an initiative by Enterprise Ireland. This Market Study Visit, in which eight Irish companies and government officials participated, was divided into two clusters: Engineering and Construction; and Aviation.
EIBN was successful in introducing Enterprise Ireland’s delegation to relevant Indonesian companies operating in those sectors. The participants had the opportunity to visit several industrial facilities and make first-hand contact with local business representatives and production processes.
The Irish companies participating in the Engineering and Construction cluster were IDA Ireland, PM Group, Dortex and Glanbia Nutritional. They visited some key players of industry in the country, namely Jababeka, AstraZeneca, Dexa-Medica Laboratories, Roda Mas Group, Darya-Varia, TPS Food, Kalbe Farma, Bayer Indonesia, and Frisian Flag Indonesia.
In turn, the Aviation cluster included representatives from Botany Weaving, Aero Inspection International, Eirtech Aviation, Irish Aviation Authority, and L-3 ESSCO Collins. This group visited key players in Indonesian aviation: Angkasa Pura II, Lion Air, Garuda Indonesia, and Sriwijaya. The aim of the visit was to build a new communication bridge between Irish companies and Indonesian companies and enhance the potential for future business cooperation.
Entreprise Ireland’s Market Study Visit to Indonesia counted on the participation of the appointed representatives of the recently opened Embassy of Ireland to Indonesia, and the endorsement of its first Ambassador, H.E. Kyle O’Sullivan. The Networking event which concluded the programme of this Market Visit was a chance for participants to weigh on the outcome of the business delegation, but also for Irish companies to become acquainted with their new national representation in Indonesia.
