On Friday, 5th December, EIBN, in collaboration with the Indonesian Port Corporation (IPC) and the Tanjung Priok Customs Office, organized the Port Visit and Info Session: Customs Clearance Procedures in Indonesia. Around 20 participants from EU embassies, chamber of commerce and industry, and business support organizations in Jakarta took part in this initiative. The aim of this activity was to provide further knowledge regarding the port’s facilities, formal procedures and shipment processes in Indonesia.
At the IPC, EIBN was welcomed by the President Director of PT. PELINDO II, Mr. R.J. Lino. He gave a brief introduction on the Indonesian Port Corporation, its development plan and progress. The participants had then the opportunity to visit the the port area and know more about the new facilities and improvements concluded and in progress, namely the Control Tower, Jakarta International Container Terminal, and New Port Kalibaru.
After the lunch break, the delegation proceeded to the Customs Office for an Info Session on the customs’ clearance procedures. The group was welcomed by the Head of of the Tanjung Priok Customs Office, Mr. B.Wijayanta and some of his staff. The session covered general customs’ clearance procedures, the Indonesia National Single Window, followed by case study discussions.
This activity was part of the EIBN Info Session Series programme for EU embassies, chamber of commerce and industries, and business support organization in Indonesia.
