On 20 January 2015, EIBN hosted an Irish education delegation to Indonesia. Initiated by Enterprise Ireland, this Market Visit was participated by 5 Higher Education Institutions, namely Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, Dublin Institute of Technology, Waterford Institute of Technology & Griffith College along with Irish government officials.
The delegation visited Bina Nusantara University to meet with Dr. Ir. Boto Simatupang,MBP, vice rector of Global Employability & Enterpreneurship; Ms. Theodora Subyantoro-Imbenay, Collaboration Center Manager, and the faculties of both Binus University and Binus International University at their Anggrek campus.
Thereafter, they visited University of Indonesia's Depok campus to meet with Dr. Hamid Chalid, SH,LL.M, Vice-rector for human resources, development & partnership, Dr.Ir. Dodi Sudiana, M.Eng, Director of Partnership; Prof. Heri Hermansyah of Faculty of Engineering and Mr. Junaidi, M.A, Head of International office.
Following the universities visit, EIBN presented their findings on Indonesian Higher Education Report.
The EIBN was successful in introducting Enterprise Ireland's delegation to relevant Indonesian Higher Education Institutions, Scholarship providers and Indonesian government officials during the networking event held at Scusa Restaurant, Intercontinental Hotel, Jakarta.
The programme's Networking Event was also attended by H.E. Kyle O'Sullivan, the first Irish Ambassador to Indonesia. The aim of the visit was to build a communication bridge between Irish and Indonesian institutions.
