EIBN endorsed a Business Luncheon on Tuesday, February 12, 2015 at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta.
The event counted on two keynote speakers; Lord Peter Mandelson, Former European Commissioner for Trade; and M. Chatib Basri, Former Indonesian Minister of Finance. The two speakers pointed out the high potential of Indonesia as a prospective key player in the Global Supply Chain.
Throughout the discussion, Peter Mandelson mentioned Indonesia as one of the most promising countries for trade and investment, alongside India. On the other hand, Mr. Basri acknowledged that some challenges remain regarding the country's readiness and the people’s capacity to embrace Indonesia’s potential in the Global Supply Chain and benefits from free trade.
Moderated by Mr. Chris Wren, the speeches were followed by a Q&A discussion in which the participants engaged with enthusiasm.
