EIBN led the participation of a delegation of European food and beverage (F&B) companies at this year’s SIAL InterFOOD Exhibition in Jakarta. Between 9 and 12 November, a European Pavilion stood at the centre of the main venue and could be explored by the 50.000 visitors attending the event at Jakarta International Exhibition Center Kemayoran, where they had the opportunity to taste and learn more about the presented food and beverage delicacies from the old continent.
As part of EIBN’s F&B mission to this year’s SIAL InterFOOD, the 14 participating EU companies were represented in the European Pavilion giving them the opportunity to present their products to Indonesian end-consumers and multipliers. The Pavilion featured diverse European products including wines, cheese, beer, coffee, pasta and olives, besides others, from 10 EU Member States. Beyond the Pavilion, EIBN organized many successful B2B events which gave the visiting companies the opportunity to meet potential local importers distributors and retail companies. Additional information sessions for the participants on market-entry strategies and local regulations in their respective sub-sectors such as dairy, poultry and agribusiness besides others completed the 2016 trade mission.
Parallel to the 4-day-event, EIBN had the honor to welcome the High Commissioner of the EU for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Phil Hogan, at the Pavilion. EIBN also successfully organized numerous B2B meetings for over 35 EU companies from the agricultural, food and beverage sectors accompanying the High Commissioner and his Agribusiness Mission to Indonesia.
EIBN’s European Pavilion itself became the center of attention during SIAL InterFOOD 2016 as it won the exhibition’s Award for Best Design. The EU products at the pavilion also attracted numerous exhibition visitors. With this, the European participation was at the forefront of the Expo, contributing to bring Indonesia and the European Union closer by sharing its flavors, traditions and culture of food and beverage making.
SIAL InterFOOD is the product of collaboration between SIAL GROUP, the world’s largest food exhibition network with 50 years of experience, and INTERFOOD, the leading food and beverage exhibition in Indonesia, running for 14 years. This year’s exhibition was opened by the High Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development of the EU, Mr. Phil Hogan.
