Bank Indonesia (BI) announced on Monday (Aug. 8, 2016) that it’s consumer confidence index increased in July to the highest survey reading since March 2015.
The survey questioned 4600 participants in 18 major cities measuring above 100 indicators. The index rose from 113,7 in June to 114, 2 in July, indicating respondents are optimistic. According to the survey consumers expect price pressure to cool across the board in the next three to six months.
Also in July, Indonesia’s annual inflation rate was 3,21 percent, which is the lowest since December 2009.
