The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, said, Indonesia is ready to explore economic cooperation with France. He pointed out that France is a strategic trading partner for Indonesia. Nasution made the statements during a meeting with French Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Mrs. Corrine Breuzé on Friday (July 29, 2016). On Saturday (July 30, 2016) he added that both countries’ economies are complementary, making it important to increase mutual economic cooperation in several sectors.
According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade the total trade volume between France and Indonesia reached USD 2.3 billion and French investment realization in Indonesia amounted to USD 131.6 million for 197 projects in 2015. Nasution added that investment realization between France and Indonesia could be further increased and spread particularly in eastern Indonesia.
