Bank Indonesia (BI) enhances cooperation with Bank of Finland
SauliVäinämöNiinistö, President of Finland, is committed to promote better cooperation between Bank Indonesia (BI) and Bank of Finland. Mr. Niinistö stated the commitment during a visit to BI's Head Office in Jakarta on Wednesday, November 4.
BI Governor Agus DW Martowardojo said that the central bank will continue to improve its collaboration with its Finnish counterpart through information exchange in the field of economics.
"We also expressed our appreciation over the support of the President of Finland," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, Bisnis Indonesia reported.
The meeting at BI's headquarters is part of President Niinistö's state visit to Indonesia, which was preceded by a meeting between him and President Joko Widodo at the State Palace.
The visit is aimed at exchanging views on the latest economic and financial developments, as well as cooperation between the two countries.
"In facing global pressures that are still high for both countries, each party expects for an enhanced economic cooperation between Finland and Indonesia, including between the central banks of both countries," said Agus.
President Niinistö was accompanied by Finland's Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador, chairman of the Finnish business delegation, and other senior officials.
