Commodity train operation to Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) will start by the end of February 2016. Currently, land acquisition has been started.
Dwelling Time Task Force Chairman, AgungKuswandono, explained a written agreement was made between PT KeretaApi Indonesia (KAI) and Pelindo II abour train access to JICT. The train operation is expected to lower dwelling time at TanjungPriok Port.
“Currently, land acquisition has been started. 5 of 7 land areas have been acquired while the rest two are still under process,” Agung said at Maritime Coordinating Ministry in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/23).
Resident curbing around railways, reparation of old railways, and socialization has been conducted. “Railway construction will start in October 2015 and based on PT KAI’s information, the train will begin operation by the end of February 2016,” he asserted.
Agung, who also serves as Deputy II for Natural Resources and Service Coordination of Maritime Coordinating Ministry, said the strategy used to lower dwelling time was to eliminate double or unnecessary requirements and monitoring shift to post clearance audit phase.
According to him, the regulations about import ban and restriction have been revised such as 30 Trade Ministry Regulations, 12 Industry Ministry Regulations, and 2 Food and Drug Inspection Agency Head Regulations. “We are optimistic the regulation and restriction will drop for 23 percent from the previous 51 percent to 28 percent,” he added.
